　　副詞almost, nearly

　　1)almost, nearly將近 是同義詞。比如：

　　It was almost/nearly lunch time when we returned to ourschool.

　　我們回到學(xué)校時(shí)已差不多午餐時(shí)間了。

　　The baby is almost/nearly a year old, but it can’t talk yet.

　　這個(gè)嬰兒差不多一歲了，但還不會(huì)說(shuō)話。

　　She almost touched him, almost,so close it made her grin.

　　她差一點(diǎn)就碰到他了，就差那么一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)，她禁不住得意地笑起來(lái)。

　　Use of public transportation is the highest it has been in almost 60 years in almost every American city.

　　幾乎每一個(gè)美國(guó)城市的公共交通使用率都達(dá)到近60年來(lái)的最高水平。

　　2)含有否定意義的結(jié)構(gòu)中只能用almost，不能用nearly。比如：

　　The boy almost never missed a football game on TV.

　　這個(gè)男孩幾乎從未錯(cuò)過(guò)一場(chǎng)電視上的足球賽。

　　Almost no student wanted to see the play again.

　　幾乎沒(méi)有學(xué)生想再看一遍這個(gè)戲。

　　So at the same time almost no one and almost everyone had PMS.

　　也就是說(shuō)在同時(shí)，要么幾乎沒(méi)人經(jīng)前綜合征，要么幾乎人人都有。
