One day a professor entered the classroom and told the students about a surprise test. After hearing that all students were seated and waited for the test to begin. Now, the professor gave the test papers to all students with text facing down at the desk. Once he was done with handing out the test to all students, he asked them to turn the test pages and begin.
一天一位教授走進(jìn)教室，跟學(xué)生說(shuō)要進(jìn)行一次突擊測(cè)試。聽(tīng)到這個(gè)消息，所有學(xué)生都坐好等待測(cè)試開(kāi)始，然后教授把試卷發(fā)給所有學(xué)生，有字的一面朝下放。所有試卷都發(fā)完后，教授讓學(xué)生把試卷翻過(guò)來(lái)，開(kāi)始測(cè)試。
Student’s were confused to see that there was not a question but just a black dot in the center of the page. The professor noticed the students' face expression and told them, “I want you to write about what you see there.”
學(xué)生看到卷上沒(méi)有問(wèn)題，在紙中央只有一個(gè)黑點(diǎn)，都很困惑。教授注意到了學(xué)生臉上的表情，說(shuō)：“我想讓你們把看到的都寫(xiě)下來(lái)。”
The students were still confused but got started with the test. At the end of the class, the professor took all answer sheets and started reading each answer from each sheet in front of all students. All of them described about the black dot and tried to explain its position etc.. After the professor finished reading the whole class was silent.

Now, professor began to explain, “Don’t worry, I am not going to give you grades for this but I just want you to think about something. Here everyone focused on the black dot wrote about it but no one wrote about the white paper, the same is with our lives. The white paper represents our whole life and the black spot represents problems in our life.

Our life is a gift given to us by God, with love and care, and we always have reasons to celebrate –our friends around us, the job that provides us our livelihood, the miracles we see everyday.
我們的生命是上帝賜予我們的禮物，其中充滿愛(ài)和關(guān)心，我們總是有快樂(lè)的理由——身邊的朋友、為我們提供生計(jì)的工作，還有我們每天看到的不可思議的事。
Still we just focus on day to day problems like health issues, lack of money, problems in relationships etc. but we never see that these problems are very small compared to everything we have in our lives.”

In old times it was customary for Monks who is traveling and seeking for lodge to stay was to engage himself in dharma combat with head monk at Zen monastery. If he won battle then he could stay else he would have to seek quarters elsewhere.
古時(shí)候，游歷的或想要借宿的和尚習(xí)慣于和寺院的住持辯論佛法。如果贏了，就能留下，否則就要另尋他處。
Once a traveling monk stop at a monastery. Master at monastery assigned his attendant to engage in silent debate combat with traveling monk. By chance attendant who was to combat with wayfarer had only one eye.
一次有一位游歷僧人到了一家寺院，住持安排一個(gè)手下僧人和這個(gè)游歷僧人進(jìn)行一場(chǎng)沉默的佛法辯論。碰巧游歷僧人的對(duì)手只有一只眼睛。
They both were sent for combat. Soon the wayfarer returned to master saying, “Your man is too good. I must journey on.”
這兩個(gè)人都出去辯論了，很快游歷僧人回來(lái)找到住持說(shuō)：“你的人太厲害了，我得繼續(xù)找住處了。”
Wayfarer then told master about the combat. He said , “I held up one finger to symbolize Buddha but he held up two fingers for Buddha and Dharma. So I held up three fingers for Buddha Dharma and Sang-ha but then he made a fist to indicate that they were all one. So I ran to indicate that I am no match for him.”
然后游歷僧人跟住持講述了辯論經(jīng)過(guò)。他說(shuō)：“我舉起一根手指代表佛陀，他卻舉起兩根手指代表佛陀和達(dá)摩。所以我舉起三根手指代表佛陀、達(dá)摩和僧伽，但他卻握拳表示他們都是一體，所以我就跑了，意思是我比不上他。”
After saying this wayfarer left. When the traveler left, master’s attendant arrived. He was angry and out of breath. He demanded to his master, “Where is that rascal??”
說(shuō)完這番話，游歷僧人就離開(kāi)了，他走之后，住持的手下回來(lái)了，他很生氣，上氣不接下氣地問(wèn)住持：“那個(gè)混蛋跑哪兒去了?”
He continued, “Master, first he insulted me by holding up one finger to indicate I had only one eye. Still being polite I held up two fingers to indicate that he was blessed with two eyes but still that traveler kept going on and held up three fingers to indicate that together there were only three eyes among them. So I wanted to hit him hard and made a fist but he ran off. Where is he hiding??”
他繼續(xù)說(shuō)：“住持，首先他舉起一根手指羞辱我，意思是我只有一只眼睛。我仍然很有禮貌地舉起兩根手指，意思是他很幸運(yùn)有兩只眼睛。但那個(gè)游歷僧人變本加厲，舉起三根手指表示加在一起還是三只眼睛，所以我就想揍他攥起拳頭，但他跑了，他藏哪兒了?”
Moral: Never be too quick to judge others.

It was anniversary and Ria (Wife) was waiting for her husband to show up. After some years of marriage things changed between them. Once cute couple who couldn’t live without each other now had turned bit bitter.
這是一個(gè)周年紀(jì)念日，利亞在等著她丈夫的出現(xiàn)。結(jié)婚幾年后他們相處之間有了些許變化。當(dāng)年如膠似漆的小情侶如今也遇到了些困難。
They were now fighting over every little things, both didn’t like changes came into their marriage.
他們現(xiàn)在經(jīng)常因?yàn)殡u毛蒜皮的小事?tīng)?zhēng)吵，但兩個(gè)人都不希望他們的婚姻出現(xiàn)什么變故。
Wife was waiting to see if Manoj (Husband) remembered that it was their wedding anniversary. As the door bell rang she ran toward door and open it with a smile and bunch of flowers to greet her husband. Both started to celebrate. They wanted to make up for fights. They planned to for champagne, light music.
妻子正在等著馬努基(丈夫)看他是否還記得他們的結(jié)婚紀(jì)念日。門(mén)鈴響起時(shí)她跑向門(mén)口，手捧鮮花微笑地開(kāi)門(mén)迎接她的丈夫。兩個(gè)人開(kāi)始慶祝。想以此來(lái)彌補(bǔ)那些爭(zhēng)吵。他們準(zhǔn)備好的香檳和輕音樂(lè)。
Suddenly the phone in the bedroom rang.
突然臥室的電話響了。
Ria went to pick it up. On call there was a man who said, “Hello ma’am I am calling from the police station. Is this Mr. Manoj Kumar number?”
利亞去接了起來(lái)。一個(gè)男人在電話中說(shuō)：“夫人您好，我是警察局的，這是馬努基ž庫(kù)瑪先生的號(hào)碼嗎?”
She replied, “Yes it is!”
她回答說(shuō)：“是的!”
“I am sorry mam but there has been an accident and man died. We got this number from his wallet. Can you please come and identify body?” man replied.
“對(duì)不起夫人，很遺憾地告訴您，剛剛發(fā)生了一場(chǎng)車禍有一個(gè)人死了。我們從他的錢(qián)包中找到了這個(gè)號(hào)碼。能請(qǐng)您過(guò)來(lái)辨認(rèn)一下尸體嗎?”男人回答說(shuō)。
Ria was shocked!! “But my husband is with me here.!!”, she replied.
利亞震驚了!!“但是我的丈夫現(xiàn)在就在我旁邊啊!!”她回答說(shuō)。
“Sorry ma’am but the incident took place in afternoon while he was getting off bus.” Man replied. Ria was about to lose her conscience. “How could this happen?”, She thought to herself.
“對(duì)不起夫人，意外是下午在他下公交車時(shí)發(fā)生的。”利亞就要失去意識(shí)。“怎么可能呢?”她心中想著。
She had read stories about souls returning to meet their loved ones after their death before it leaves.!! Her heart sank. In fear she ran towards other room to look for her husband. But he was not there.
她曾經(jīng)讀過(guò)關(guān)于人死后靈魂會(huì)在消失之前回來(lái)和他們愛(ài)的人道別這樣的故事。她的心咯噔一下。她驚恐地跑向其他房間尋找她的丈夫。但是他并不在。
She said to herself “It’s true!! He left me forever. Oh God I can die to have another chance to mend for every fight they had. I lost my chance forever.” She fell on floor in pain.
“這是真的!!”她自言自語(yǔ)道，“他永遠(yuǎn)地離開(kāi)我了。我的上帝啊，我可以以死去彌補(bǔ)之前所有的爭(zhēng)吵。我永遠(yuǎn)沒(méi)機(jī)會(huì)了。”她痛苦地跌倒在地。
Suddenly there was noise from bathroom, door opened and Manoj came out and said, “Darling, I forgot to tell you today my wallet was stolen.”
突然盥洗室里傳來(lái)聲音，門(mén)開(kāi)了，馬努基走出來(lái)說(shuō)：“親愛(ài)的，我忘告訴你了，今天我錢(qián)包被偷了。”
