成語寓言故事:Approaching the Deer Without Yu即鹿無虞
In the dense mountain forest, there lived herds of stout and strong red deer. They were alert and suspicious animals and ran about with agility. It was very difficult for people to catch them. When some people came to the mountains to hunt, they would

Only with full preparations would they carry their knives and arrows, lead their hounds and enter the dense forest for the siege. As a result, all the red deer dashed into their ring of encirclement, and one by one fell dead under the rainfall of arrows.

成語寓言故事:The Wife Exhorts the Husband妻子勸夫
Yan Zi was a famous prime minister of the State of Qi during the Spring and Autumn Period.
晏子是春秋時(shí)期齊國(guó)有名的相國(guó)。
One day, Yan Zi went out in a carriage driven by his coachman.
一天，晏子坐著馬車外出。一位車夫?yàn)樗s車。
The coachman's wife had never seen Yan Zi before and wished to have a look at him. She peeped from behind the door. "Ah,here comes Yan Zi!" She got the impression that though he was the prime minister of the State of Qi, he talked and behaved with great modesty.
車夫的妻子從來沒見過晏子，很想看看。她就從門縫中偷偷地觀看:“呵，晏子出來了!”她得到的印象是:晏子身為齊國(guó)相國(guó)，但是言談舉止顯得非常謙虛。
But her own husband? Haughty and arrogant, he sat under the big canopy driving the carriage for Yan Zi, yet considering himself unexcelled in the world. She was much ashamed of her husband.
可是，自己的丈夫呢?他坐在車上的大傘下為晏子駕馭馬車，卻趾高氣揚(yáng)，不可一世。妻子看了十分羞愧。
As soon as the coachman returned home, his wife asked for a divorce. The coachman was baffled, unable to make head or tail of this, and asked angrily:
車夫一進(jìn)家門，妻子就提出要和他離婚。車夫一時(shí)莫名其妙，摸不著頭腦，便生氣地問:
"A divorce? What is your reason?"
“要離婚?你的理由是什么?”
The wife answered:
妻子回答:
"Yan Zi is}less than 6 chi (Chinese unit of length, 1/3 metre)
tall, but his heart is filled with aspirations and his mind with knowledge. Though he is the prime minister, he is courteous and
treats people prudently when he goes out. But what about you? You are fully 8 chi tall, but you forget that you are only a coachman.
By the side of the prime minister, you dare to look so cocky,consider yourself always in the right, and brandish the whip to urge the horse on in utter complacency. You are so immodest that I can't live with you any longer."
“晏子雖然身高沒有六尺，但是他胸懷大志，滿腹經(jīng)綸。他身為相國(guó)，外出時(shí)，對(duì)人彬彬有禮，謙虛謹(jǐn)慎。你呢?身高足有八尺，可是你忘了，你不過是個(gè)車夫，卻在相國(guó)身旁神氣十足，自以為是，揮鞭催馬，得意忘形。你這樣不知謙遜，我不能再和你生活下去了。”
Upon hearing his wife's words, the coachman felt much ashamed. Thereafter he became very careful and prudent in doing things and treated people modestly.
車夫聽了妻子的話，覺得很慚愧。從此，他做事小合謹(jǐn)慎，待人謙遜。
Yan Zi noticed the big change in the coachman's behavior and couldn't understand why. So he asked the coachman.
晏子看到車夫變化很大，不知為什么，就詢問車夫。
The coachman told Yan Zi his wife's criticism in detail. At
this, Yan Zi was deeply moved. Later Yan Zi recommended him to be a da fu (a senior official).
車夫把妻子對(duì)自己的批評(píng)一五一十地告訴了晏子。晏子聽了，感嘆不已。后來，晏子推薦這位車夫出任大夫。
成語寓言故事: Hanging Up an Ox but Selling a Horse懸牛賣馬
One day, Ling Gong, King of the State of Qi, had a sudden whim. He liked to see women wearing men's clothes and let all the women in his harem do so.
一天，齊靈公心血來潮，喜歡看女扮男裝，并且讓內(nèi)宮的女人都這樣做。
Soon afterwards, all the women in the whole country followed
the fashion and dressed like men.
不久，全國(guó)的女人趕時(shí)髦，都女扮男裝。
Seeing the whole country follow this example, Ling Gong became angry, and gave orders to the officials in all parts of the ountry:
可是，靈公看全國(guó)都這樣，就生氣了，又命令各地官吏:
"Whenever you see women dressed like men, you are to tear up their clothes and rip their waistbands."
“只要發(fā)現(xiàn)女扮男裝的人，就撕破她們的衣服，扯斷她們的腰帶。”
But this trend among women to dress like men couldn't be
discouraged.
可是，這股女扮男裝的風(fēng)氣，仍然沒有能夠剎住。
One day, when the prime minister Yan Zi came to court for an audience with him, Ling Gong asked him:
一天，宰相晏子朝見靈公，靈公問晏子:
"I ordered all the officials to forbid women to wear men's
clothes. Whenever they see them doing so, they are to tear up their clothes and rip their waistbands without exception. But this trend couldn't be stopped. What exactly is the reason?"
“我讓各地官吏禁止女人穿男人的服裝，只要看到，就一律撕破衣服，扯斷腰帶，可就是禁止不了。這究竟是什么原因?”
Yan Zi answered:
晏子回答說:
"Your Majesty, you allow the women in your harem to dress like men, but you forbid the common people to do so. This is like hanging up the head of an ox outside the door, but selling horsemeat inside. How can that be done? If women in your harem are rorbidden to wear men's clothes, then how would the people outside the palace dare to do so any longer?"
“大王，您讓內(nèi)宮女扮男裝，卻不讓百姓這樣做;這就好比門外掛的是牛頭，而門里賣的是馬肉，這怎么行呢?如果宮內(nèi)禁止女扮男裝，那么宮外的人怎么再敢這樣做呢?”
Ling Gong nodded his head again and again, and said:
靈公連連點(diǎn)頭，說:
"What you have said is right! What you have said is right!"
“你說得對(duì)!你說得對(duì)!”
Ling Gong ordered his officials to do according to what Yan Zi had said. Sure enough, in less than one month, the trend of dressing like men among women in the whole country was stopped.
靈公命令官吏按照晏子的話去辦。果然，不到一個(gè)月，全國(guó)各地女扮男裝的風(fēng)氣就剎住了。
