1、通信存款的含義
Deposits by correspondence refer to the way in which overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots, Chinese of foreign nationality and domestic residents approved to settle down or study abroad authorize domestic banks to handle savings deposits for their funds abroad.
通信存款是指華僑、港澳臺胞、外籍華人及批準(zhǔn)出境定居或留學(xué)的國內(nèi)居民,將其在國外的資金委托國內(nèi)銀行辦理儲蓄存款的一種方式。

A client sending a letter authorizing the bank to handle the deposits by correspondence may go through the account opening procedures by attaching duplicates of his or her ID card, passport or exit pass and other valid credentials, filling out the Application Form for Opening Account of Deposits by Correspondence, choosing the type of deposits according to the types of services already transacted by the bank (say, current deposit, time deposit and current-time optional deposits, etc.), and also pre-assign the method of withdrawal later.
來信委托銀行辦理通信存款開戶的客戶,須附身份證、護(hù)照或出境通行證等有效證件的影印件,填寫“通信存款開戶申請書”,根據(jù)銀行已開辦的業(yè)務(wù)種類(如活期、定期、定活兩便等)選擇存款種類,并約定日后的支取方式,即可辦理開戶手續(xù)。
After account is opened, the bank, as agent, will keep the passbook(certificate), and mail or issue the Depository Certificate by Agency. The deposit can be withdrawn only against the Depository Certificate, and such depository certificate may be reported loss and brought out of the territory.
開戶后,銀行將代保管存折(單),寄給或發(fā)給客戶“代保管寄存證”。支取存款時憑“寄存證”辦理,此證可掛失或攜帶出境。
