  關于成長經(jīng)歷悟人生的英語美文篇1

There has been a heated discussion on the newspaper recently. As is vividly and interestingly depicted in the picture above, in the middle stand two individuals, showing us a striking contrast between two kinds of people: the self-satisfied person with little learning, shaking no to the pot of knowledge; while the other more learned person, thirsting for knowledge, welcomes it with open arms. Apparently, the thought-provoking drawing indicates that people shouldn’t be satisfied with knowledge they have got but need to preserve the attitude of yearning for knowledge. (Simple as the picture is, the symbolic meaning is as deep as ocean. Just as an old Arab proverb once said , where there is pursuing spirit, there is more precious knowledge.)

The author’s real purpose is not the fact itself, but to lead us to find what hides behind the ice burg.

To pursue knowledge and abilities bears close resemblance to climbing a mountain. After a long trip to the foot of it, some people are content with the thought “I have reached the mountain” and thus stop to rest there; some people when ascending half way up the hill, cease to go on climbing, since they have had a taste of the delightful mountain scenery; only when people dissatisfied with where they get will climb to the high summit to appreciate the real glorious landscape. Like wise, the people who know little or some knowledge are just like those who stop at the foot or half way of the mountain. While, the people, persisting in the road of gaining knowledge, share the same spirit with those summit-oriented climbers.

The latter spirit is indispensably important in the times of knowledge explosion, when the news, facts, opinions even rumors have been bombarding us from every corner of the world. Thomas L. Friedman, the author of best seller The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century, insists that knowledge has pull the world into a single global network which has the possibility of ushering an amazing era of prosperity and innovation. That is to say, people must absorb new knowledge so as to accommodate themselves to the changing society, or they would be supplanted by those who have more knowledge.

Therefore,if you want to be a winner in the world where new things take place every day, you should not be content with what you have already learnt, you need to keep learning and updating your knowledge and skills all the time.

  Dear friends,

We high school students do have some growing pains, but we can get rid of them correctly and wisely. Firstly, some students explain that their body styles and looks are beautiful .In fact, it's unnecessary to take much attention on this. It's the thing that we can't detemine. Secondly , some students are worried because they are disunderstood by others .Facing this , we can have a heart-to-heart talk with them. If you are friendly and open-minded enough, I believe it's easy to make more friends. Thirdly, we may fall behind others ,which makes us stressed. Actually we can make our study efficiently, full of determination. Many students feel that their pocket money is too little to satisfy their needs. I think it's not too important to get much pocket money when we don't actually need it. Besides, we should learn to spend money!

  That's all. Thank you.

How times flies! Now I am a student in Grade Nine facing the first turning point in my school life.

When we were young children, we were eager to grow up quickly so that we could escape from parental discipline. Besides, we had to be governed by teachers at school. There was always so much homework given by teachers and so many arguments between the parents and me.

However, as an old saying goes, ‘No pains, no gains’. Through these growing pains, I have learnt to be brave, independent, and knowledgeable and so on. In spite of lots of failure and argument, I have grown up to face them by myself.

The title ‘Growing pains and gains’ reminds me of the meaningful life which is full of my happiness and sorrows.
