雅思聽力高分訓練技巧:連讀
所謂連讀,通俗地講就是指相鄰的兩個同屬一個意群(即在意義上密切相關(guān))的詞,如果前一個詞的詞尾音節(jié)和后一個詞的詞頭音節(jié),能夠連成一個音的話,就要發(fā)一個音,不可分裂開來。連讀處不可讀得太重,只需順其自然地一帶而過即可。這一規(guī)則不單在IELTS聽力考試中,更是英語國家的人們說話時最為常見的讀音規(guī)則之一。
具體來說,有下面幾種連讀。
1、“輔音+元音”型連讀
在同一個意群里,如果相鄰兩詞中的前一個詞是以輔音結(jié)尾,后一個詞是以元音開頭,這就要將輔音與元音拼起來連讀成一個音。
舉個英語學習者耳熟能詳?shù)谋磉_:Not at all.(沒關(guān)系,不要緊) 該表達就涉及到兩處連讀:
第一處連讀:not的詞尾音發(fā)輔音[ t ],at的詞頭音發(fā)元音[ A ],兩者可以連讀成一個音[ t A ],連讀處無需重讀,所以弱讀成[ t[]音。
第二處連讀:at的詞尾音發(fā)輔音[ t ],all的詞頭音發(fā)元音[C:],兩者又可連讀成[ t C: ]音。
所以整個表達變音成了No~ta~tall [nD ~ t[ ~ 5tC:l ]。

I’m an English boy. 連讀成 I’~ma~nEnglish boy.
It is an old book. 連讀成 I~ti~sa~nold book.

2、“r/re+元音”型連讀
如果前一個詞是以-r或者-re結(jié)尾,后一個詞是以元音開頭,這時的r或re不但要發(fā)[ r ],而且還要與后面的元音拼起來連讀。
比如there is連讀成the~reis [ Te[ ~ rIz ],here are連讀成he~reare [he[ ~ rB: ]。
試體會下面幾句話中的連讀:
They’re my father and mother. 連讀成 They’re my fathe~rand mother.
a football under it 連讀成 a football unde~rit
Here~are four~eggs. 連讀成 He~reare fou~reggs.

但是,如果一個音節(jié)的前后都有字母r或者re,即使后面的詞以元音開頭,也不能連讀。例如:The black clouds are coming nearer and nearer. 一句中nearer與and不可連讀。
3、“輔音+半元音”型連讀
英語語音中的[ j ]和[ w ]是半元音,如果前一個詞是以輔音結(jié)尾,后一個詞是以半元音,特別是[ j ]開頭,此時也要連讀。
最為典型的例子就是平時大家常說的Thank you. 連讀成Than~kyou. [ WA n ~ kjU:]

Nice to meet you. 連讀成 Nice to mee~tyou.
Would you like a cup of tea?連讀成 Woul~dyou li~kea cu~pof tea?
4、“元音+元音”型連讀
如果前一個詞以元音結(jié)尾,后一個詞以元音開頭,這兩個音往往也要自然而不間斷地連讀到一起。
比如:
I am Chinese. 連讀成 Ia~m Chinese
He is very friendly to me. 連讀成 H~eis very friendly to me
She wants to study English. 連讀成 She wants to stud~yEnglish.

5、當短語或從句之間按意群進行停頓時,意群與意群之間即使有兩個相鄰的輔音與元音出現(xiàn),也不可連讀。
比如:
Is it a hat or a cat? 連讀成 I~sita hat o~ra cat? 但是hat與or之間由于分屬兩個意群,所以不可以連讀。
There is a good book in my desk. 連讀成 The~reisa good book in my desk. 但是book與in之間不可以連讀(原因同上)。
She opened the door and walked in. 連讀成 She opened the door and walk~edin. 但是door與and之間不可以連讀(原因同上)。
