My father was one of the first people to introduce fly-fishing to the Bahamas. He was a fishing guide for men such as Joseph Kennedy, the father of president John F Kennedy, and Ernest Hemingway. One day in the late 1960s, the prime minister of the Bahamas, Lynden Pindling, came to Andros with Pierre Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada. They wanted me to take them bonefishing. I knew we had to catch some fish.
