Should mothers stay home with children? 母親應(yīng)該在家照顧孩子嗎
Christophe: Hello, this is Christophe from Belgium and Aiste from Lithuania. Today's question is ... Should mothers stay home when the children are young? I think the mother's should definitely stay home. My mom was a single mother and she had to work immediately after the birth because she had to earn money to raise the children and I didn't really like that I preferred to have a mom that stays at home. You had a different situtation.

Aiste: Well, young children ... My mom stayed with me for one year when I was really a baby and after she gave birth to me she made a break in her studies and she stayed with me for one year. Later I remember both my parents going to study or to work and some neighbor or my grandmother used to stay at home and take care of me but I went to kindergarten from two years old that's kind of early I think.

Lia: We are both sisters. So, my question for you is ... Is it common for a man to cook in your country?
利婭：我們兩個(gè)是好姐妹。我想問(wèn)你的問(wèn)題是，在你們國(guó)家男性做飯普遍嗎?
Santi: Well, I will answer from my family perspective. No, it's not common in our family to have a man cook in our kitchen cause it will cause a mess and well, especially, my father he loves to cook, he wants to cook but our mother says no directly because when he cooks when he prepares all of the things he tends to make the kitchen dirty and we have to clean it later on so no.
桑蒂：我從我們家的角度來(lái)回答。在我們家男性下廚并不普遍，因?yàn)樽屗麄冏鲲垥?huì)弄得一片狼籍，我爸爸喜歡做飯，他想做飯，可是我媽媽會(huì)直接拒絕他，因?yàn)樗跍?zhǔn)備做飯時(shí)會(huì)把廚房弄得很臟，然后我們還要進(jìn)行清理，所以媽媽不讓他做飯。
Lia: So that's the point of your family. What about in our country?
利婭：那是你家里。那我們國(guó)家的情況呢?
Santi: I think maybe younger people, younger families use to do it but for the older couples, I think no. Right?
桑蒂：我認(rèn)為男性做飯?jiān)谀贻p一代和年輕家庭中比較普遍，不過(guò)在年齡較大的夫妻中間不常見(jiàn)。對(duì)吧?
Lia: Yes, that's right.

Is it common to have a housekeeper where you live? 在你生活的地方請(qǐng)管家普遍嗎?
Santi: Hello, my name is Santi.

Lia: And I'm Lia.
利婭：我是利婭。
Santi: We're both from Indonesia. And today's question that I'd like to ask you is ... Is it common to have a house keeper in Indonesia?
桑蒂：我們都來(lái)自印度尼西亞。今天要討論的問(wèn)題是，在印尼請(qǐng)管家普遍嗎?
Lia: Yes, it is common to have a housekeeper in Indonesia because, especially, in big cities like Jakarta when both parents are working so they need someone to take care of the household chores. They need someone to take care of the children to prepare them a meal, or to help them actually so it is common.
利婭：在印尼請(qǐng)管家很普遍，尤其是像雅加達(dá)這樣的大城市，父母都要工作時(shí)，需要請(qǐng)人來(lái)處理家務(wù)。他們需要請(qǐng)人來(lái)照顧孩子，給孩子準(zhǔn)備飯，或是幫助他們，所以非常普遍。
Santi: Yes, and it's convenient, really convenient because they can do all the cooking, all the cleaning and all we have to do is ask them politely.
桑蒂：對(duì)，而且這樣做很方便，因?yàn)樽鲲?、打掃等工作全由管家?fù)責(zé)，我們只要禮貌地請(qǐng)他們做事就可以了。
Lia: Yes, that's very important.
