Ever since I have had the ability to understand it, I have been fascinated by the English language. As a child, I would either be writing, reading or telling stories and ever sine then, have read a wide variety of both fiction and non-fiction texts from a variety of genres and eras.
This passion for language has led me to many different extra-curricular activities. For the past four years, I have attended a Youth Theatre each week where we concentrate very much on both improvised and scripted drama but also have done work on stage management, stage make-up, singing, and signed singing (an interest which begun with my learning of both violin and double bass to grade 4 standard).
With this same organisation, I have volunteered for the past three years at one of the children’s groups where I work helping with drama, music and art. It was with this same organisation that I decided to learn Sign Language.I have recently gained my British Sign Language Level 1 certificate and am now beginning a Level 2 course. I began learning Sign Language at the same time as starting my A-Level in English Language and Literature, a course I have found extremely interesting. Taking these two courses concurrently was very exciting for me as learning more about the linguistics of the English Language enabled me to make comparisons between the two languages.
These interests have led me to this course which I not only feel suits my needs and interests aptly, but also excites me in its course content. Although I’ve enjoyed all of my A-Level English Language and Literature course but have found a few parts of it particularly interesting. I specifically enjoyed our coursework tasks for our AS Level as it included writing a piece of original fiction, an aspect of English which I have always enjoyed. I also enjoyed the task of performing a monologue as I have missed not being able to study drama as a subject.
I try to follow my interests outside of school and so attend a wide variety of theatre productions, art exhibitions, musical performances and subject related lectures. When studying psychology last year, I attended a large psychology conference with a variety of speakers which was both helpful and interesting. Last year I also attended an ‘a(chǎn)rt master class’ organised with Middlesex University and with nine other students, it gave more opportunity for more detailed and involved discussions. I have not yet had the opportunity to attend an English related lecture but look forward to a study day in March which will aid me with my study of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra.
Alongside this and my voluntary work with the drama organisation, I have worked in a variety of jobs which have all helped to develop my sense of responsibility as they were dependent on both teamwork and co-operation but also my use of initiative.I have chosen to defer my entry to 2005 as I plan to complete a voluntary teaching placement in Africa. The prospect of this placement excites me as it will give me the opportunity to travel, to meet new people, to experience new cultures, and, above all, help out where much help is needed. I feel that taking a gap year is going to benefit me greatly as it will enable me to gain valuable life skills that will benefit me both at university but also in whatever I choose to do following university whether it be a postgraduate course or work.

Australia Awards，也就是享有盛譽(yù)的澳大利亞政府奮進(jìn)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，它是澳大利亞政府為促進(jìn)本國(guó)與鄰國(guó)之間的教育聯(lián)系，以及維系持久穩(wěn)定的國(guó)家關(guān)系而設(shè)立的，由澳大利亞外交部(DFAT) 、教育部和澳大利亞國(guó)際農(nóng)業(yè)研究中心(ACIAR) 提供。奮進(jìn)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的適用申請(qǐng)人為來(lái)自亞洲、非洲、太平洋地區(qū)和中東部分國(guó)家的學(xué)生，獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金獲得者一般可以享受學(xué)費(fèi)全免、機(jī)票費(fèi)用返還、生活補(bǔ)貼和健康保險(xiǎn)等福利。
2020年，澳大利亞外交部向來(lái)自超過(guò)45個(gè)發(fā)展中國(guó)家的個(gè)人提供了2,017個(gè)奮進(jìn)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金和短期課程，大約支出2.59億澳元。

2、Destination Australia Program
澳大利亞留學(xué)目的地獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
Destination Australia Program (DAP)旨在吸引和鼓勵(lì)澳洲國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)生以及國(guó)際留學(xué)生前往澳洲邊遠(yuǎn)地區(qū)修讀四級(jí)及以上證書的課程，該項(xiàng)目每年提供超過(guò)1,000個(gè)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金名額，每名學(xué)生每年能獲得15,000澳元。

3、Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP)
澳大利亞政府研究培訓(xùn)計(jì)劃
從2017年1月1日起，澳大利亞政府研究培訓(xùn)計(jì)劃 (RTP) 取代了國(guó)際研究生研究獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金項(xiàng)目。RTP旨在支持學(xué)生攻讀研究碩士和研究博士學(xué)位，澳洲本地學(xué)生和國(guó)際留學(xué)生均能申請(qǐng)。這項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金雖是教育部設(shè)立，但卻由各個(gè)大學(xué)直接對(duì)其進(jìn)行管理，并且每所大學(xué)都有各自的申請(qǐng)流程和篩選標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，因此同學(xué)們需要直接向參與項(xiàng)目的大學(xué)咨詢和申請(qǐng)。

4、Australia APEC Women in Research Fellowship
澳大利亞亞太經(jīng)合組織婦女研究獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金
澳大利亞亞太經(jīng)合組織婦女研究獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金向來(lái)自APEC經(jīng)濟(jì)體的優(yōu)秀女性研究人員開(kāi)放申請(qǐng)，該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金旨在支持APEC地區(qū)婦女實(shí)現(xiàn)經(jīng)濟(jì)賦權(quán)，并提高女性在科學(xué)、技術(shù)、工程和數(shù)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的地位。
免雅思澳大利亞留學(xué)方法
一、英語(yǔ)母語(yǔ)國(guó)家的學(xué)生
澳洲屬于英聯(lián)邦國(guó)家，國(guó)內(nèi)的通用語(yǔ)是英語(yǔ)，生活各方面的交流語(yǔ)言和學(xué)校的授課語(yǔ)言，都是英語(yǔ)，所以要想進(jìn)入澳洲讀書，必須要能夠熟練的掌握英語(yǔ)。
所以，如果申請(qǐng)者是來(lái)自以英語(yǔ)為母語(yǔ)的國(guó)家，從小接觸的就是英語(yǔ)，天天說(shuō)的也是英語(yǔ)，那么你的英語(yǔ)水平肯定是相當(dāng)不錯(cuò)的，自然不需要再參加雅思考試。
這些國(guó)家的學(xué)生，只要出示自己的護(hù)照，證明自己是屬于英語(yǔ)母語(yǔ)國(guó)家的人，就可以直接申請(qǐng)豁免語(yǔ)言。
二、在英語(yǔ)國(guó)家讀滿兩年的學(xué)生
而對(duì)于一些非英語(yǔ)母語(yǔ)國(guó)家的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)，也是有捷徑可以走的，你可以選擇先去英語(yǔ)母語(yǔ)國(guó)家的學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言或者進(jìn)行求學(xué)，這樣再申請(qǐng)澳洲留學(xué)的時(shí)候，就不需要出示英語(yǔ)成績(jī)。
全球有不少這樣充當(dāng)跳板的國(guó)家，例如新加坡等東南亞國(guó)家，這些國(guó)家的錄取要求會(huì)比較低，申請(qǐng)起來(lái)會(huì)比較容易，而且還能夠提前將語(yǔ)言學(xué)好，一舉多得。
三、在澳洲讀滿兩年的學(xué)生
此外，還可以選擇提前去澳洲，讀語(yǔ)言或者讀預(yù)科，還可以在高中階段就出國(guó)，先感受澳洲的日常生活，順便也學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言，這樣在申請(qǐng)的時(shí)候也比其他的留學(xué)生更有優(yōu)勢(shì)。
時(shí)限都是兩年，兩年之后可以直接以澳洲學(xué)生的身份進(jìn)行院校的申請(qǐng)，當(dāng)然，必須要能夠提供在澳洲學(xué)習(xí)的相關(guān)證明和證書。
其實(shí)不管以上三種方法中的哪一種，可豁免的學(xué)生雖然不用提交語(yǔ)言證書，但是實(shí)際上嗎，英語(yǔ)水平都是比較高的，在未來(lái)的入學(xué)不會(huì)受到語(yǔ)言的阻礙。
