Having thoroughly enjoyed the study of English Language at A Level, I believe I have a secure academic foundation with which to approach a degree course in this subject with confidence and enthusiasm. The English Language takes a fundamental and crucial role in enhanced communication between different social groups, and to read English would, therefore, be extremely beneficial to both the development of my communication skills and my ability to express ideas and opinions
Additionally, a course in English at this level would provide me with an opportunity to further my knowledge of the theory and historical basis of the language - each of these being aspects of the course that particularly interest me. I also look forward to studying the practical application of English in various social contexts, and the ways in which language has evolved and developed over time. In addition to my A Level courses, I have pursued various interests, both in and out of school - including the study of both theoretical and instrumental music to Grade V standard, by means of school lessons. Playing the 'cello has allowed me many opportunities to participate in numerous orchestral concerts and solo performances, which I feel have increased my confidence and improved my ability to communicate with others - by performing and interacting as part of an ensemble. This experience has also allowed me to enhance my awareness of music in general - especially of composers originating from the Baroque period
My part time job as a waitress has also made me more able to co-operate with others (through both colleague and customer interaction), and has improved my ability to take initiative and be independent. I have found the work to be a rewarding and invaluable experience - as both a source of finance, and as a gateway through which to enter the field of employment
Over the past three years, I have become extremely interested in graphic design and html programming. These skills have provided me with paid work in the form of website design for local businesses - through which I have improved my capability to meet deadlines and work to a schedule, and encouraged myself to set personal challenges, learn new skills and meet new people. My self-motivation, creativity and self-expression have also benefited from this experience - all valuable qualities, which I believe are particularly relevant when regarding the nature of course I have chosen
On the whole, I believe myself to be a generally sociable, dedicated and self-disciplined student, although I can be overly competitive at times. I have enjoyed my A Level studies so far, have gained a great deal from them, and believe that I have the determination and ability to enjoy a successful university career.

1、免費醫(yī)療
NHS(National HealthService)公共醫(yī)療體系，留學(xué)生可以免費獲得包括處方藥、牙醫(yī)、眼部護理、旅行醫(yī)療保健在內(nèi)的多項免費服務(wù)，其實這些費用都在之前申請的時候已經(jīng)交過啦。
2、國際學(xué)生卡
在英國，如果學(xué)生辦理了國際學(xué)生卡，在買車票、飛機票、參觀博物館等，就能享受到相當多的折扣。
3、購物退稅
在留學(xué)簽證到期的前3個月，就可以享受退稅政策。商店會要你的護照號碼和國內(nèi)的地址，保存好單據(jù)和物品以便在三個月之內(nèi)出關(guān)時退稅。
如果你在一個商店有很多單據(jù)，可以在走前統(tǒng)一在該商店開總單據(jù)，以確保是在離境前三個月之內(nèi)退稅的，并且請店家填好購物金額、品項和簽名，才算是有效的退稅表格。
到機場海關(guān)時，把退稅表交給海關(guān)工作人員，即可選擇拿到現(xiàn)金或是打入卡里。
4、打工
英國政府目前是允許留學(xué)生打工的。具體規(guī)定為：學(xué)期期間每周最多20小時，假期可全職工作。大部分英國院校都有專門人員負責幫學(xué)生介紹工作。
5、交通卡折扣

6、陪讀家屬

申請英國留學(xué)雅思要求
一、 雅思5.5分
如果學(xué)生的雅思成績只有5.5分的話，無論平均成績多少，什么專業(yè)，想要申請到一般的大學(xué)都會有點困難，更不用說好的大學(xué)。在這種情況下，如果學(xué)生不能繼續(xù)考雅思的話，學(xué)校或者老師都會建議學(xué)生去英國讀一段時間的語言課程，或者是讀預(yù)科。
這也是目前大多數(shù)語言不過關(guān)的學(xué)生普遍用到的方案。最終考試達到學(xué)校的要求才可入讀正課課程，而達標要看每個學(xué)校的專業(yè)要求。
二、雅思6分
雅思6分在申請英國大學(xué)的大軍中也只能算是中下游的分數(shù)，想要申請好學(xué)校就有點難了，一般都是在排名五六十開外的大學(xué)。
但是要求雅思6分的學(xué)校又是英國絕大多數(shù)大學(xué)的最低要求，比如格拉斯哥大學(xué)、諾丁漢大學(xué)、謝菲爾德大學(xué)、紐卡斯爾大學(xué)、拉夫堡大學(xué)、伯明翰大學(xué)等等最低要求都是6.0分，但是這些學(xué)校的絕大多數(shù)專業(yè)都去要求達到6.5分，6分的要求是極少的數(shù)特殊專業(yè)。所以當學(xué)生只有6分去申請時，未必能被錄取。
雅思成績最低要求為6分的部分大學(xué)：
格拉斯哥大學(xué) 6.0-7.0分
諾丁漢大學(xué) 6.0-6.5分
華威大學(xué) 6.0-7.0分

以上這些學(xué)校的最低要求都是6.0分，但是熱門專業(yè)和他們的強勢專業(yè)一般都會要求在6.5分，甚至7.0也很正常，6分可以去讀3個月的語言課程。
三、 雅思6.5分
雅思6.5分，是英國絕大多數(shù)大學(xué)的普遍要求，同時大多數(shù)大學(xué)的商科都要求6.5分，10名以后的大學(xué)都可以錄取。
