I intend to continue the study of History at university. As a subject I have been interested in since childhood, I enjoy studying the past and how it has shaped our future. The study of History allows us to view the mistakes and successes of the past and employ them to the future. a??History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. It was fascinating to explore how Italy came together as one country from several states and to discuss whether Italy would have formed alone or whether in required to push from those such as Garibaldi or Cavour.
Having spent many years studying modern history and decided to take it upon myself to expand my knowledge into ancient history. Earlier this year I read a book called Cleopatra by Lucy Hughes- Hallet. It was interesting to read about such a famous and influential woman of history from another womans perspective. Often Cleopatra is portrayed as femme fatale- as in the portrait by John William Waterhouse or Shakespeare who said a??other women cloy the appetites they feed: but she makes hungry, where most she satisfies.
She is often seen by historians as a seductive, potentially poisonous temptress, however this is not necessarily how Hughes-Hallet interprets her; to her she is plainer, more ambitious and less cruel. I think it is difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to ancient history and especially in this case someone as constantly redesigned as Cleopatra.
History has taught me to make substantiated judgments and to interpret and analyse external material as well as my own opinions. I find History intriguing because it gives me the opportunity to study the development of human society over a long-term. My inquisitive mind has further contributed to my enthusiasm for the subject and I enjoy working independently. But all three of my subjects have honed my writing skills, to be able to select and organise knowledge and communicate it coherently and concisely. More specifically, Sociology has been helpful in discerning social trends, and understanding something of the human psyche; and English Literature allows me to study works, in context. All these skills will enable me to read History at university.
I enjoy visiting museums and monuments of history when I have the opportunity. I particularly love the trench experience at the Imperial War Museum and more ancient history- such as the ancient human occupation of Britain - at the National History Museum.
I work well within a team, but also have the necessary attributes to lead if I am called upon, demonstrated in my active participation in my school's Charities Committee for the past six years, organising various charity events throughout the school. My work as secretary of the Charities Committee allows me to represent the school in the community and has taught me management and organisation skills. In school I have also been a keen participant in the orchestra in which I am lead violinist in school and also play for the borough. I have been involved in several school plays either back stage, in the orchestra or as part of the cast. I have also been involved in numerous school sports teams, including the netball and athletics teams. I am a naturally cheerful person who has a positive outlook on life, but with the maturity necessary for university, and as such, I feel that I am fully prepared for the academic step up to degree level. I greatly anticipating the opportunity not only to go to university, but specifically to read History as I know it will provide me with vital life skills, as well as giving me access to a potentially wide and varied career within the specialty.

泰國留學(xué)簽證申請(qǐng)流程
第一步：申請(qǐng)?zhí)﹪魧W(xué)項(xiàng)目
不同院校間的申請(qǐng)流程會(huì)有所不同，但是一般都需要報(bào)名表、畢業(yè)證書或畢業(yè)證明信的公證書、畢業(yè)成績單公證書、護(hù)照、推薦信等。
PS：只有泰國校方收到相關(guān)申請(qǐng)費(fèi)用和學(xué)費(fèi)后，留學(xué)申請(qǐng)才會(huì)被完全確認(rèn)。
第二步：收到錄取信
一旦你的泰國留學(xué)申請(qǐng)被成功受理，泰國校方會(huì)寄出一份錄取通知書。錄取信的抬頭會(huì)印有該大學(xué)的標(biāo)志，你的姓名和護(hù)照號(hào)碼，你所選專業(yè)的名稱以及尾部會(huì)有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的確認(rèn)簽名，它象征著你已經(jīng)被此項(xiàng)目所錄取并且邀請(qǐng)你與指定日期內(nèi)到大學(xué)開始你的留學(xué)生活。
錄取信不僅僅是進(jìn)入一所學(xué)校的入場券，同時(shí)也是申請(qǐng)學(xué)生留學(xué)簽證的門票。一年泰國留學(xué)簽，只會(huì)批準(zhǔn)給確實(shí)有留學(xué)意向的人而不是想在假期里去泰國玩樂的人。因此每個(gè)學(xué)期內(nèi)，你至少還需要注冊(cè)至少3門課程以證明你是一個(gè)留學(xué)生而不是旅行者。
第三步：申請(qǐng)簽證
有了錄取信，申請(qǐng)簽證還需要有效期大于半年的護(hù)照，護(hù)照尺寸的近照，然后你便可以到國內(nèi)的泰國大使館或領(lǐng)事館去申請(qǐng)留學(xué)簽了。
如果你申請(qǐng)了旅游簽前往了泰國，由于旅游簽允許你在泰國待60天，那么在前30天內(nèi)將其轉(zhuǎn)成留學(xué)簽證，后面30天需要預(yù)留給申請(qǐng)非移民ED簽證的處理流程。
第四步：你的簽證有效期限為90天
尤其要注意的是，第一次申請(qǐng)到的留學(xué)簽證有效期只有90天，這就意味著，在這90天內(nèi)，你需要到泰國移民局去續(xù)簽。不過只有當(dāng)簽證有效期小于30天時(shí)，移民局才會(huì)受理。

泰國留學(xué)費(fèi)用視不同大學(xué)學(xué)費(fèi)是有差異的，不同專業(yè)也有一定區(qū)別
1、不要輕信學(xué)費(fèi)動(dòng)輒一年十幾萬的學(xué)校宣傳或者學(xué)費(fèi)過于低廉的學(xué)校
2、泰國最好的大學(xué)朱拉隆功大學(xué)學(xué)費(fèi)相對(duì)較高，對(duì)學(xué)生的成績要求也比較高，雅思要求6.5以上
3、泰國本科四年的總學(xué)費(fèi)基本維持在15萬以內(nèi)，至于繳費(fèi)方式一般有的學(xué)校會(huì)在第一年交的比較多，后面兩年再交少部分的學(xué)費(fèi)。
4、學(xué)費(fèi)：根據(jù)學(xué)校和選擇專業(yè)的不同，每學(xué)年(兩個(gè)學(xué)期)約60，000-120，000泰銖(折合人民幣約15，000-30，000元)
5、預(yù)科班或英語強(qiáng)化班學(xué)費(fèi)：25，000-30，000泰銖/三個(gè)月(折合人民幣約6，000至7，000元)
6、住宿費(fèi)：視條件不同，每間3，000-6，000泰銖/三個(gè)月(折合人民幣約700-1，500元，可供兩人合住)
