高考經(jīng)典英語范文:青島市

The City of QingdaoThe city of Qingdao lies in the east of Shandong Province. It is famous for its blue sea and beautiful beaches.Qingdao is a wonderful place for summer holidays. Tens of thousands of people from all parts of the country and all corners of the world come to visit the city every summer. They walk along the beaches, go swimming in the sea or do some shopping in the stores or on the markets.
They can seethe fine views of the city. Especially attractive are the building groups of the Eastern-and-Western-style mixed houses and villas.Great changes have taken place in Qingdao in the recent years. 高考經(jīng)典英語范文:High School Students and Hair Style
The hair style of high school student has long been a controversial issue. Authorities concerned insisted that the fixed hair style could make high school students look fresh and tidy. I myself was a high school student. I never thought this hair style had done me any good. When I was a high school student, my classmates often got into trouble with our military instructor, and it was not infrequent that they would be awarded a demerit simply because their hair was a little longer than the prescribed length. What is important, I should like to point out, is the mind under the hair, not the hair on the head. The authorities need not be afraid of the consequences of a cancellation of the hair regulation. I believe the law and order of our society does not depend on the length of one‘s hair, especially on that of the high school students‘. For many years we have tried to solve the problem of juvenile delinquency. All we need to do in this respect is to encourage them to give more attention to their education and allow them more leeway in their activities. To prescribe a hair style for the young is certainly the least admirable means to achieve this end.
高考經(jīng)典英語范文:莫扎特的簡介
(Mozart)
Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 and died on December 5, 1791. When he was three, he often had lessons with his elder sister. His father took him through many different countries, and he played music for lots of people there. But some people didn‘t believe that a little boy could write such beautiful music. They asked him to stay in a room all by himself for a week and somebody watched the room all the time. In the week, he finished a new piece of music. After that, people believed that he could write beautiful music.
Mozart died when he was still a young man. During his short life, he studied music and taught music and played music and wrote music. Even by working so hard, he could not make much money. Often he had to borrow money from his friends. But his music made him happy and for more than two hundred years his music has made other people happy, too.
高考經(jīng)典英語范文:快樂是一種選擇
(Happiness Is a Choice)
Are you happy? Do you remember a time when you were happy? Are you seeking happiness today? Many have sought a variety of sources for their feeling of happiness. Some have put their heart and efforts into their work.Too many turned to drugs and alcohol. Untold numbers have looked for it in the possession of expensive cars, exotic vacation homes, and other popular "toys".
Most of their efforts have a root in one common fact: people are looking for a lasting source of happiness. Unfortunately, I believe that happiness evades many because they misunderstand the process and journey of finding it.I have heard many people say that,"l‘II be happy when I get my new promotion,‘or "1‘II be happy when I lose that extra 20 pounds." This thinking is dangerous because it presupposes that happiness is a "response‘to having, being or doing something. In life, we all experience stimulus and response. Stimulus is when a dog barks at you and bares his teeth. Response is when your heart beats faster, your palms get sweaty and you prepare to run. Today, some people think that an expensive car is stimulus. Happiness is a response. A great paying job is stimulus. Happiness is a response. A loving relationship is stimulus. Happiness is a response. This belief leaves us thinking and feeling:"l‘ll be happy when..." It has been my finding that actually the opposite is true. I believe that happiness is a stimulus and response is what life brings to those who are truly happy. When we are happy, we tend to have more success in our work. When we are happy, people want to be around us and enjoy loving relationships.
When we are happy, we more naturally take better care of our bodies and enjoy good health. Happiness is not a response rather, it is a stimulus. Happiness is a conscious choice we make every day of our lives. For unknown reasons to me, many choose to be miserable, frustrated and angry most of the time. Happiness is not something that happens to us after we get something we want -- we usually get things we want after we choose to be happy. I have made only one simple rule for my own happiness:Every day above ground is a good day. Therefore, I tend to have a lot of good (and happy) days in succession.
高考經(jīng)典英語范文:我的新年決心
(My New Years Resolution)
Hoping to excite student interest in our reading center, I asked each teacher to write a New Year‘s resolution on a special form and send it to me.
After I posted the resolutions on the bulletin board in the reading center, one young teacher stopped by, looked at them for a few minutes, and then left abruptly. Passing two teachers on their way in, she stormed, "My resolution isn‘t posted - and mine was one of the first ones in!" I couldn‘t help but overhear, and the tone of her voice sent me flying to my desk in search of a misplaced resolution.
Looking rapidly through stacks of papers, I uncovered hers. It read, "I resolve not to let little things upset me. "
