As we all know, the environment around us is getting worse and worse /more and more seriously today。 Water is polluted, we have no clean water to drink。 Many trees are cutting down, some animals are getting less and less。 Some factories are pouring dirty air into the sky。 The population is increasing faster and faster, resources are getting less and less…etc。 Not only does it affect our lives and health, it also has a great affection in the future。 People’s health has been greatly affected by air, noise and water pollution。 Many people died of diseases。 In order to live a better life, something must be done to stop the pollution。 It’s our duty to protect our environment。 We shouldn’t throw away rubbish everywhere。 Trees are very helpful and important for us。 We should plant more and more trees in order to live better and more healthy in the future。
If everyone makes contribution to protecting the environment, the world will bee much more beautiful。 In a word, if everyone pays more attention to our environment, there will be less pollution and our life will be better。 “There is only one earth”, I hope everyone will protect our environment well。
With the development of our society, energy in the world bees more and more limited, so it is quite important for us to save energy and to protect our environment。 As a student, there are a lot of methods we can do to save energy at home。 For example, first, we can turn off the light as well as other appliances when we are not using them。 Second, recycle the waste water, paper and other waste so that we can reuse them。 What's more, it is suggested to use public transportation more instead of private cars。
Above all, everyone can make a great contribution to our environment。 I hope I can learn more to develop new and clear energy, like energy from the wind and solar。
What can I do for our environment?
Everyone can do something for our environment。 For me, I should try to save electricity in my daily life。 For example, if I am the last person leave the classroom in the evening, I will always remember to turn off the lights。 In order to protect our forests, I will use paper wisely。 I should try to use both sides of paper whenever it is possible。 I will not use things like paper cups and disposable chopsticks because they are made of wood。 I believe that doing all these small things will improve our environment and help make our world a better place to live in。
With the spread of the consciousness of environmental protection, the word “l(fā)ow-carbon” has been very popular in life。 We can find it in many aspects, such as low-carbon products, low-carbon consumption, and low-carbon travel and so on。 Generally speaking, more and more people are advocating “l(fā)ow-carbon” lifestyle。
As implied in the name, “l(fā)ow-carbon” lifestyle is a kind of new pattern of lifestyle which aims to lowering the carbon dioxide emission in living as much as possible。 For example, some office workers are not proud of driving private cars from work to home any more but pride themselves on riding or taking public transportation。 In addition, they advocate recycling water and saving energy as much as they can。
As college students, we also make some contribution in our daily life to reduce the emission of the carbon dioxide。 For example, switch off the light when leaving and save water。 In addition, we should use our knowledge and action to arouse others’ concern about the importance of lowering emission of carbon dioxide and lead them to lead a “l(fā)ow-carbon” life。
More people are becoming interested in reducing their carbon footprint – the amount of carbon they use up. They try to reduce their carbon emissions by cycling, using public transport or an electric car, rather than driving gas-guzzling vehicles. Some people choose not to fly to go on holiday because aeroplanes are the biggest producers of carbon emissions.
You can make ‘green’ choices when buying food too. It’s best to buy food which was locally grown or produced so that it hasn’t been imported by air, or transported long distances by road.
Houses can be environmentally friendly too. It takes less energy to heat a house if it has good insulation and double glazing. You can also create your own energy if you havesolar panels or a wind turbine fitted though these can be expensive. You can also save water by using a rain water butt for washing the car or watering the garden. It’s even possible to use a system where ‘grey water’ – water which has been through a tap once already, is used to flush toilets. Some new housing projects are being built specifically to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
In my view , First of all, as students, we should go to school on footinstead of driving a car. Cars not only let out carbon dioxide but also wasteenergy. Second ,we had best not use plastic bags which can bring about the whitepollution. We should use the environmentally-friendly bags. Third, it's of greatuse to plant trees. Trees can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Now wecan from our own, to promote low-carbon living.
From now on we started operations! I believe that only we do thus can wehave a better living environment.
Ladies and gentlemen:
Good morning! Today, the title of my speech isImproving Beijing's environment for the Olympics. Have you ever seen animalscry? Do you know what makes them cry? It's the polluted world, a dirty world, caused by our irresponsible behaviors, that makes those lovely animals cry. Manyof us are smart enough to know how terrible it is to have a world withoutanimals and plants. But some people still persist in making the same errors andharming the environment.
What's worse is that people are eating wild animals. Those people don'tknow, and more importantly, they don't want to know. This kind of behavior hascaused some specific problems. For example, medical experts have suggested thateating wild animals helped spread the terrible disease SARS. Now, our world isno longer clean and beautiful. Why? Because air, water, and noise pollution hasbecome more and more serious. Noise pollution makes us talk more loudly andbecome angry more easily. Water pollution makes our rivers and lakes very dirty.Air pollution is the most serious kind of pollution. Both air pollution andwater
pollution are not only dangerous to our health, but also dangerous toanimals and plants. We're destroying our only world. A large number of treeshave been cut down, so a lot of lands have been turned into deserts. Pollutioncan be seen everywhere! Unquestionably it is essential that we clean up ourenvironment. Sadly, we've not always appreciated the importance of protectingthe environment. On the streets, you can see cars producing smog. In thebathrooms, you can see students leaving the water tap on after using them. Notonly the young people, but also the elderly ones throw
things everywhere without thinking it's wrong, even in a beautiful park.these things are taking place every day, even in modern cities like Beijing. Wecan't do that any more. We must learn how to protect the environment. Ifeveryone is aware of protecting it instead of destroying it, the world canbecome cleaner, more beautiful, and more peaceful. The theme of Beijing 20__Olympic Games is "New Peking, New Olympic". It's the target owned by everyChinese. We should try our best to improve Beijing's environment forOlympics.
, let's begin to act! First, start with the things around you. Don't throwrubbish onto the road. Don't talk loudly when you are outdoors. Turn off thewater tap after using it. Go to school by bike or by bus instead of by privatecar. Save your pocket money and contribute to environmental protectionorganizations. Take me as an example, I take action in order to make our onlyworld full of happiness. I pick up rubbish and throw it into a trashcan. Icollect waste paper or bottles for recycling. I plant more trees and flowers, and so on. If you do all these things just like me, it means you have donesomething useful to improve the environment. We're grateful, because the emblemof the Beijing 20__ Olympic Games is a precious treasure dedicated to theOlympic Movement by the people of China. Under the guidance of the Olympicspirit, let us do a better job in all fields of our preparation and venueconstruction work in an efficient way. We will combine the Olympic Movement withthe latest technology and advanced culture to make the Beijing Games the bestOlympic Games ever! Welcome to Beijing! Thank you.
Presently, a new lifestyle called low carbon life is spreading every cornerof our country. The concepts of low carbon are low energy and no waste. It issuch a significant project that I can’t wait to present my ideas on how topromote it.
On the first place, a no-car day is supposed to set up every week in ourschool. Because cars not only cause serious air pollution but also waste energy. On no-car day, neither students nor teachers are allowed to drive to school.Meanwhile, just walk, jump, cycle or run. Use our legs and enjoy the fun.
On the second place, we had best not use plastic bags any more. No one canstand the “white pollution”. So, it is wise to use bags which can be reusedagain and again.
