Everybody Can Help The Environment

We all know Tagore. This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us,and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and weearn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to askfor more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to thenature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energyto make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as muchwater as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures areamazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? Ifpossible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will bemade into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak interms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people becomemuch clearer about the problem.

We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protectthe environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside theback door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plasticbottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into thetrashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not sowarm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others andjoined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form agood habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusablethings instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment isour duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end thisspeech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile atthe sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be friendly to nature, and nature will befriendly to you!”

Honorable Judges,fellow students:

Good afternoon!

Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students arethe beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education atextraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and supportourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Willwe be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of ourcountry?

The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, whichwould cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The collegestudents I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We helpeach other clean the dormitory,go shopping and bargain together, and take parttime jobs to supplement our pocket money.

The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect theneed for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeplyfor each other,we cherish freedom,we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Lastweek, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order tomake a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.

As college students,we are adolescents at the critical turning point inour lives. We all face a fundamental choice:cynicism or faith, each willprofoundly impact our future,or even the future of our country. I believe inall my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a littlebit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challengeand take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to assume newresponsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to makeour world a better place. I believe in our future.

thank you!

as we know, you have to learn how to fly much more independently instead ofunder your parents’ considerate protection when you get into college, which alsomeans you will e across enormous questions that should be solved by yourself.from my point of view, those main problems can fall into three parts.

first of all,the plicated relationship. for one thing, you have to knowhow cultural differences function in your relationship and respect them. inaddition, college students spend less time studying together owing to differentcourses’ choosing, which requires us to devote more energy to buildingrelationship. for the other thing,it is also vital to municate with yourparents often by using mobile phones or other tools.

secondly, the temptations. the college serves us a more relaxed environmentmixed with other temptations such as the internet, alcohols and so on. what’smore, the college teachers won’t pel you to study like before, you doze off orplay cell phone in class, and you flee up the morning class because you get uptoo late. such too frequent behaviors will cripple your passion and enthusiasmtowards life,so it is essential for us to resist these temptations and insistpursuing our own goals.

thirdly, the balance between study and work. most of us will choose to takea part time job to earn the extra money or just to exercise ourselves. but it issignificant to keep a relatively balanced relationship between them since ialways regard the study as our main task,so my principle is adjusting work tofollow the schedule of study.

in conclusion, whatever issues we meet or miseries we suffer from, confrontthe hash reality head on,what we can do is remembering the past, living in thepresent and looking forward to the future.

Nothing is difficult if you put your heart on it. Nothing is easy if youdon’t try your best.

We often hear people say,“Never give up.” This can be encouraging wordsand words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying toreach his goal no matter how many times he fails. In my opinion, the quality ofdetermination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore,I believe thatwe should never give up.

One reason is that if we give up too easily,we will rarely achieveanything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at somethingnew,so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides,if wealways give up when we fail,we will not be able to develop new skills and growas people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from ourmistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson wehave learned is wasted. Finally,we should never give up because as we work toreach our goals,we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeedin other areas of our lives.

Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln. Born intopoverty,Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. He lost eightelections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.

He could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit,he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country.

Lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.

In short,it is important that we don’t give up when working for our goals.Whether we succeed in the end or not,we will learn something, and what we learnwill help us to bee better, more confident people. Furthermore,if we give up,we have no chance of attaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is alwaysa chance that we will succeed one day.Thank you very much!

I love my motherland

Dear teachers,

I’m so glad to have the chance to give you a speech here. The topic of my speech is “I love my motherland”.

Before I started school, my mother told me that “Our country is called China.” when I attended school, the teacher told me that “Our country is called The People's Republic of China”. We love our mothers, and we also need to love our motherland. When I was in the nursery school, I always envied big brothers and big sisters, because they could wear the red scarves, but I could not. The teacher told us:" the red scarf is a corner of the red flag. It is dyed with the blood of martyrs."

Finally one day, the red scarf hanged on my chest. Under the flag of Young Pioneers, I closed five fingers together, put my hand way up high. I knew deep inside that this salute meant the benefit of the people is higher than all. The red scarf would be Along with us, told us to "study hard, make

progress day by day." The flag of Young Pioneers would guide us to "learn from Lei Feng, do good things."

Gradually, we increase in height, and grow up. We know the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. We also know that the red flag symbolizes the glories and dreams of the motherland. We also know that we are the future and hope of our country. Whenever I see the five-star red flag rising, my feeling is extremely excited. “Ah motherland, you are my mom. Ah mom, you are the motherland. I love you.”
