端午節(jié)(Dragon Boat Festival)，為每年農(nóng)歷五月初五，起源于中國，是古代吳越地區(qū)崇拜龍圖騰的部族舉行圖騰祭祀的節(jié)日。在端午節(jié)那天，有以龍舟競渡形式舉行部落圖騰祭祀的習(xí)俗之說。說到端午節(jié)，很多人第一時(shí)間就會想到詩人屈原。戰(zhàn)國時(shí)期的楚國詩人屈原在該日抱石跳汨羅江自盡，統(tǒng)治者為樹立忠君愛國標(biāo)簽將端午節(jié)作為紀(jì)念屈原的節(jié)日。The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar.
