Discuss the difference between fast food and traditional food, such as nutrition, and recipe?
Living in a fast-paced society, the modern eaters are not longer interested in the contents of their food, but focused on whether a convenient meal is available at hand to devour. Statistics indicate that even housewives spend much shorter time at kitchen than their predecessors. This writing will compare and contrast advantages and disadvantages of fast food and traditional food.
Traditional food has its unshakable position in the human culture both in the social and historical context. Historically, chefs have gone to all lengths to experiment on novelties, invent cooking skills to gratify guests' hunger. Hence, traditional food has secured its incomparable value with a complex of tantalising features, including the variance, flavour, and taste. Its unique charms can nurture social relations as well. A family is accustomed to prepare a traditional feast to serve their guests at weekend or on holiday, such as Christmas.
Further, traditional food is favourably nutritious and balanced, compared with fast food. Dieticians have suggested audience through millions of televised courses that traditional food can retain more nutrition before being served on the table, for in general, they are cooked with a temperate heat. By contrast, the fast food are made at such a high temperature that nutrition has inescapably vaporised during the cooking process. Meanwhile, cooks pay more attention to the balance of recipe when preparing traditional food, such as combing meat with vegetable.
Despite a range of advantages, traditional food is overshadowed by its fast competitor in terms of time. Traditional food can consume a considerable amount of time from choosing materials, to arranging your table for visual appeal. In contrast, fast food cannot be faster when making a five-minute trip to a store around the corner, or even dialling to a fast food company. Needless to say recently, a string of fast food companies have tried their hardest to enrich the menu.
To summarise, traditional food has an irreplaceable role in our life, backed with various merits. However, its prevalence is declining for people are more and more time conscious.
Overshadow=eclipse=obscure:使黯然失色 His performance has eclipsed his predecessor's success.
Go to all lengths:竭盡全力地做某件事情

Compared with A=in contrast to A :和A對比來說,

In many countries, traditional foods are being replaced by international fast foods. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages ?
It has been said that the McDonalds logo is the most universally recognized symbol. Huge fast food chains have spread to all corners of the earth as a result of a global society. Personally, I think it brings us more harm than good.
First of all, fast foods are usually much less healthy than home-cooked meals. They use lots of sugar, salt, artificial ingredients /?n?ɡri?d??nt/ and food additives, all of which have a negative impact on our health. Just look at all of the overweight and malnourished people in countries with fast food restaurants and you'll see all the proof you need (舉例子)。
Furthermore, fast foods will replace traditional foods and local culture. When people travel abroad they usually want to do as the Romans do; how unfortunate if there is no local food left to try. In my hometown, Beijing, local snacks and cuisine have become harder to find as KFC, Pizza Hut and others have gradually taken over.
To be fair, however, fast food is popular for a reason. Usually such chains are very clean and have a comfortable environment. Also, they are very standardized so no matter where you go, you know what you are going to get, which is convenient.
In many countries traditional foods are being replaced by international fast foods. This is having a negative effect on both families and societies. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is a foreign food that I would really like to try, but I wonder if my choice will surprise you? I will tell you what it is, how I learned about it, where it is mostly eaten and explain why I want to taste it so badly.
The food is…. Pizza! Now, of course, this is a food that you can buy all over the world, and I really enjoy the pizza that I can buy in my home country which is England in the UK. However, I recently learned from a friend that the style of pizza available here is nothing like the authentic Italian pizza you can get if you visit its country of origin, and since then, it’s one of the things on my bucket list. That is, something I’d like to do before I die is to travel to Italy, find a local pizzeria and get a really authentic pizza.
So how did I learn what I’ve been missing? I shop regularly at a local family owned delicatessen. The proprietor is Italian, and he is a great foody – that is he takes food very seriously, sourcing only the best ingredients. He and his wife are both vegetarian like me, so they often suggest food or recipes. The other day we were talking and he was bemoaning the lack of ‘proper’ pizzas in this country. He told me that whilst of course, Italian food is very regional including its pizzas, they are nevertheless distinctive. All pizzas MUST be cooked in a wood-fired oven for a start, the dough should be tossed by hand. The pizza should only be made with the very freshest and finest ingredients, and is best eaten outdoors too, of course, against the backdrop of the Italian countryside!
Pizza is eaten everywhere in Italy, though of course approximations of pizza can be bought the world over. Even so, my deli friend has persuaded me I’ve been missing out, and I’d like to find out for myself how different it might taste if I go for an authentic recipe, venue and location. I’ve never had a real pizza, and I’ve never been to Italy either, I think it would be a winning combination – not to mention that it would also be a great excuse to go to a beautiful country that I have yet to visit. What do you think, would you like to come too?
